9/5/23
The mistress disappeared this morning with a list in her hand from the fridge. My guess was payday and off to the supermarket. Sure, enough she arrives back absolutely exhausted. She is looking paler today and now needs to rest. She is a bit of a worry these days and is in contact with her Dr.
So, I didn't achieve much in her absence. I still can't find those children's stories. I am doing a lot of thinking about all her hiding places. I was in her room when I heard the garage door open, jeepers I took off and fell over the fella in the barrel. Then I jumped really high onto my shelf and then missed. Oh, it is a tough life being a Gnome.
Now she has had a phone call from SPCA to foster a cat/kitten. But all is on hold until we can go south after she gets better. I know she is missing a furry friend and did enjoy looking after them while on holiday. Hey, I miss them too. I wonder if she has thought of this? I wonder what would happen if I grew some fur......😂😂😂
It appears the son canceled making concrete today. Too much water from the sky. Maybe it will have spread down the road with the rest of the water up in the Waikato.
Another phone call was from a friend of many years ago who is also unwell and making sure she was ok, especially because she's on her own. Hey, she is not on her own, she has me to keep her company!! She wasn't amused. But why? It appears I am not a human. Oh heck. Anyway, it was very kind of her we thought. The mistress is very grateful.
Thought for the day
The attitude of Gratitude
Our language reflects our thoughts and our
thoughts partially create our reality.
Grateful people freely use words such as gifts,
givers, blessings, blessed, fortune, fortunate, and abundance.
Less grateful people are preoccupied with burdens, curses, deprivation, and complaints.
The language of gratitude draws our attention to the positive contributions that others have made to our lives.
It is possible to shift self-defeating talk to an internal dialogue cloaked in thankfulness.
Grateful people are masters at turning their minds to the ways in which they're supported and sustained.
Once you start to notice kindness, more good actually begins to come your way.
