Waihi
6/3/23
Jeepers a storm came through here last night and was deafening. The mistress had the volume up to hear the TV. We have a flat roof on this tiny house, but it's very cozy for us.
We have 2 dogs who pop over from time to time and always get a pat. Now the mistress doesn't treat me this way. I think I will lay a complaint. But to whom should I do this. If I complain she will be sure to leave me on the side of the road. Hmmm maybe I should just shut up. Gee she heard my brain tick over. She said a good idea. So how does she know what my brain is thinking? Look it up in your books she says.
Yesterday, Sunday we went to the Waihi beach market on the way to meet the daughter and her family at Katikati for a picnic lunch at the local park. Nice day out in the sunshine. The market was interesting because the mistress left her wallet in her bag. A.... mazing.
The granddaughter got a huge easter bunny easter egg. Her eyes nearly popped out and her parents were told not to touch it.
Now these census forms. She is getting very rattled about these; finally, she has them sorted out today. Posting them to her sons sounds like a better idea. Do I have to do them, because I have news for her, this isn't Gnome business.
It appears she already knows that Gnomes don't need to....Phew.
I wonder if she has to put how many of us live at her house. This could be interesting.
This storm last night has mucked up our plans for this week. The mistress wanted to go back to Whangamata as it's close to here, but the storm has wrecked the road so better stay put she says. There isn't a lot around here to do, but she seems to keep herself busy.
We went down and got a car wash today because it was a shocking color. While the machine did its thing the mistress got out the duster and gave me a tidy up then the dashboard. I could have done without this inconvenience, as it tickled my nose, and couldn't see either. She said it was because I was dirty. But Gnomes don't get cleaned. Just when will she learn this?
These photos still haven't climbed over to the laptop yet and causing so much frustration. Surely it should be easy if they sit side by side, but no she says as they are designed by MEN. Oh, dear, I have a lot to learn, I think.
Now the maps came out today. Next Thursday we go to Hamilton for 2 nights then up to Auckland to pick up a tour to travel to Cape Reinga, and soon after we get back, we travel to Hastings for 2 house sits.
The mistress wants to volunteer over there because a lot of roads are closed, and the scenery has vanished with the cyclone. She is sure that they will require her services.
Today she has made a booking on the ferry to take us back to the mainland on the 22 April. Those boats are a real problem. They all seem to break down all the time. She said again they are designed by men. Oh, dear will we get home. I do not want to float or swim the Cook Strait, and I doubt the mistress is keen either.
She says she will talk to her friends upstairs and visualize us on the boat. It works to find car parks and is sure she can see us on the boat.
I've even forgotten what home looks like. I wonder if the mistress remembers. At least she has her maps. !!!! Does she remember the street address? She forgets a lot of things these days, so anything is possible.
