What a day yesterday was (FRI)
4/3/23
The mistress doesn't change her mind very often but did yesterday. We headed to Whangamata as planned. The drive and driver were amazing. The mistress is enjoying the challenge of all these windy roads and tight fits. We stop as planned for her usual cuppa and a chat with the locals. Gosh, a lady in an art gallery wanted us to pose for a photo to promote this place. Jeepers. We left her a card and she couldn't wait to see our blog.
The mistress enjoyed the art and had a friend at home, that wishes she was there. An amazing place that we enjoyed.
Next door was a cafe, and the mistress was trying to cut the ginger crunch but needed an axe. That will teach her, as she shouldn't have even bought this.
She was talking to a local who had done house-sitting in the past and enjoyed it too. She even liked me. Of course, I am handsome. The mistress liked the vibes of this place and the very friendly people. It appeared after talking to the information center that the roads right around the coromandel were good, but not to go off them, and travel times and distance would work in with our day. Off we went again with a small look around and she loves this place.
Off to the next place, Tairua. Now the mistress had been itching to get to a shop here and bingo, as we arrive there it is. Heaven and Earth it is called. OMG, it's a full chocka block shop with crystals all shapes and sizes. It was almost too much for the old girl. She didn't know where to start looking. Now we don't have a tow bar or truck and she says, and bank balance and would limit herself. What, size or $$$....... 😂
Only a small bag entered the car.....Phew
Isn't life grand aye, need a joke or two, but not joker. I think she might take a wide birth of these jokers somehow.
Off to the next place, Whitianga. Nice place, with beautiful scenery and a quick look around, and wish the cyclone didn't muck our plans to stay in these places. Another place to explore another time.
Time was marching on and needed to get cracking, so I wasn't to hold her up, but it was okay for the mistress to hold me up.......she has just announced that she was the driver and to quickly get in the car or start walking. Oh, dear ok.
Then we are off again, and the mistress is gob-smacked with the views but needed to watch the road. She is impressed with the traffic and that's a first. Everyone pulls over if slow or happy to sit behind.
Didn't see any red and blue lights today. She must have been doing the right speed. 😂
Grr, this computer has just lost about 4 paragraphs and the old girl is far from impressed.
Now it's just done it again. The mistress is tired today and not surprised as she drove all day yesterday. I think she may have a lie-down and finish this later. Either that or someone upstairs is playing tricks on her. Aye, there is no upstairs here. She is convinced there is and you don't argue with her.
The Coromandel was looming, and the day is flying, but not us, we stay on the road. Now this place didn't grab my mistress at all, but the cup of tea did. Maybe the bays around here would have, but must not get onto those roads, as Gabrielle had done her business. Another is on the agenda for our next trip.
Next is the Thames, but boy oh boy this road had so many mirrors that the mistress lost count. We both prayed we didn't come across a truck or car and boat. Some places were 15km around the corner. Now, this is slow for this little red Suzuki, but she, the mistress handled it well.!!
Absolutely spectacular scenery following the coast right through to the Thames. If we went the other way, we would have had the sun in our eyes. PHEW
Stopped to buy some bubbly to take back and supplies then hit Waihi around 7.30pm. (left at 9.30am)
Now the old girl was too tired to even open it, so it is still in the fridge. That's not like her aye.
Now the computer behaved this time, and nothing was lost.....yet...
She says it's because she told them off. She reckons it was her mother. I think she, the mistress is ready for the funny farm. 😂😂
Howdy. The God dam photos won't move from my phone to my laptop, hence the delay. I will put it on the blog sometime soon.
