 Thankfully it was a quieter night for these humans. His Lordship requested an extra pillow which was offered days ago and got a much better sleep. I think he has finally realized that Mistress knows a thing or two!! She is keeping an eye on him though as he is a little pale she feels. His tummy and old age may be reacting to the anesthetic she feels and this foreign metal piece the doctor put into the knee where they chopped up some bone may be resisting. Now this is a complicated piece of information for a mere Gnome. The Mistress has suggested I consult my medical books. It would be much easier if she explained this to me. She is far too busy she claims.  

I have just heard them talking and they are going to phone the hospital tomorrow and possibly go to a doctor to clarify things. He needs stronger pain relief that doesn't upset his tummy. 

There is some progress too. This morning I was just sitting here on the shelf, and I watched his Lordship put both his socks on. It really was an education watching this major activity. His face was a mixture of expressions that I never knew a human could do. Some grunting and sweating were going on, and best of all he achieved this all by himself. The Mistress is mighty proud of him too. 

Now she checks his temperature from time to time in case an infection decides to join this picnic. 

More progress on these books today. All is going really well she says. Just a shame Christmas is nearly here and no time to capture the market. I am sure she will have something up her sleeve.
