Rain, rain and more jolly rain

That mistress is so fed up with this rain business up here in Tauranga. She is going on and on that she can't even go to the gardens or any kind of walks really. Not at all good for exercising.
So, she gives those cats around here more attention than me.
We have that ginger fella called Ziggy and the tabby whose, the quietest around here and is called Bindi. She does purr quite often and has small amounts of chatter.

That Ziggy though he chats, and chats and the mistress has quite a conversation with him, all the days we are home or constantly on arriving back home. It hurts my ears all this chatter. I just wish they would chut up and give me some peace and quiet, so I can read my books which are far more interesting.
Yesterday the kind mistress took me for a ride in the country to find some sunshine. We went to a strange place called, Kaitkati. I just so enjoy when she's kind, cos I get to see all sorts of real exciting places.
Who on earth came up with this name. She tells me that there was sure to be a good reason.
We popped into a bakery, as the sign said a winner of the best baked pies. She hadn't had a pie for many months. She chose a steak and pepper and kept saying yum during the eating process. I saw great big chunks of steak falling out that pie. Very meaty she says.

She wasn't amused when she asked the young lady for a glass of water like a lot of places have, but she announced that they have new owners who have taken the water away. The mistress wasn't at all amused.
Afterward she took me down the street and said I had to stay in the car, cos she wanted time to herself, and she thought that I would enjoy some quiet reading time. She wasn't wrong there but was extremely noisy when a tumultuous rainstorm hit our car and hurt my poor little head. I was deep into my book too. Oh, it's a tough life being a Gnome.
Me thinks she was chatting up a fella in a gift shop as she took her time in returning to the car. Do you know what she said to me when I grumbled. MYOB.
Today we went over to her daughter's place and chatted to her lovely neighbor who is writing a second book and gave her some tips on how to go about it cheaply.
That poor daughter is getting roped into helping. OMG she better not write about me as this is Gnome business.
The Granddaughter is rather tickled that her cat named Horse went and sat on the mistress's knee and proudly went to sleep. Shes the size of a horse too.

Shes a friendly thing and purred away when the mistress announced that she couldn't come to the table for lunch because of the cat being on her knee, so lunch came to her!! She even ate some cheese the mistress gave her. OMG what next.
When it was time to go back to our place we pulled in and got some petrol and when she got back in the car, she put her foot down to get away as another car pulled up with 6 bullet holes down the side of a car. I thought she was going to pee her pants......😃
Do you know what, the cat Ziggy just went into the toilet with her, and I could hear them talking away.... oh, what next? I just need a sleep; this is all too much for 1 day.
