Another day of sunshine and blue sky, but the mistress tells me there is another cyclone coming. She is not impressed by this news.

Great sleep in this posh pad for my lady. She woke late but was late going to bed. There is no hurry, as we are retired.

We set off to see Hamilton Gardens. On the way, while looking out for those red and blue lights, she spotted a postie in one of those little red motorized mobiles. She bursts out laughing. What is the joke?

She announces that the granddaughter calls those things Gnomes on Wheels. They have yellow hats not red, but she says they look like gnomes. I wonder what the posties think about this.

These humans are an interesting species. I must consult my books and see what is behind these people. They appear to make life so difficult for themselves. I will just focus on Gnome business and let those humans carry on their merry way.

Hamilton Gardens was busy with tourists, snapping pictures all over the place, but I enjoyed the ambiance as a gnome. Lots of people were looking at us and some assisted so the mistress and I could be in the same picture. She was handing cards out all over the place. 

Gee those little fellas are so small. I saw their mum keeping an eye on them. Us gnomes don't have babies. But we won't go there.

The mistress was getting rather thirsty for water, and some lunch would be nice. We sat with a nice pond in the background.  All a sudden three lovely young ladies asked if they could sit at our table. Of course, it was a table for 6 and we were delighted to chat. 

They had seen us around the gardens and were fascinated that my mistress was carrying a gnome.  Gee, they were so nice, and we shared stories of our adventures. They admired my dear mistress for her courage. Going out of her comfort zone. But hey she was with me, and I look after her......... sometimes.!!

She says that's debatable. HUHHH.

Anyway, they really enjoyed our stories and 1 of them came from Napier and offered us accommodation. The mistress was gobsmacked. She said but you don't even know me. After more discussion, she agreed to send the lady dates, and wouldn't be staying for free. That mistress is very sure to pay her way and not take advantage of people.

Soon after they left another lovely couple from England joined us too. So, introductions, etc and they were interested that we are away for 5 months and they only 1 month. Anyway, they so enjoyed our stories and that they were sitting with famous people. They couldn't compete and didn't intend to. But again, they were impressed with my dear mistress and wished us well as we did them.

Now, these three pictures are Katherine Mansfield's replica house, the car she drove, and an afternoon tea party, complete with a piano at the other end. She used to put these on for people. It's not real but definitely looks like it. I wanted to go and sample the goodies, but the mistress was in charge and no way she says.

We did enjoy our day, a great place that we recommend.
