Hamilton

7/2/23

The sun shone today for our trip to Hamilton. But first, that mistress was keen to explore Taupo as when we passed through a few days ago it was raining, and we couldn't see a thing. That blue sky put her in a good mood today. She gets a bit toey when it is supposed to be summer, and we have traveled a long way to see this big island. She wants to see what these North Islanders are talking/raving about.

Gosh, what a huge lake there is in Taupo. I spotted a fisherman or two, but no red/blue flashing lights.!! That mistress must have been watching the speedo. 😉

She got me out to stroll around the waterfront, and I posed for the camera again. I'm actually getting quite good at this business. I've noticed she's quite good in the camera business too.

Gosh since when have airplanes landed at Mc Donalds. There is a mighty big one there and it is in the shopping area. Maybe it just fell out of the sky. The mistress had no clues. Does that mean she is clueless? OH, we better not go there.

Huka falls here we come. Gee whiskers, there is sure a lot of water flowing down that place. The old girl was initially a bit timid at the volume and pace it traveled. Finally, she held on to me as if I was going to run away. Did she think I was going to save her? That is not Gnome stuff. We just watch everything happen around us.

What good are we if someone drops in front of us? Can you imagine a Gnome doing CPR?

If it were a mate of mine, then, of course, we get into Gnome business then, and then only.

OMG, she had lunch, read a local magazine, and found a shop she was trying to find. So off we flew, as time was flying by. She had strict orders to not be long and leave her money behind, but she doesn't always listen to me. In fact, she poked her tongue at me, and off she went, and I was to chill out and read my book and give her some peace. Gnomes like peace too, so I too will enjoy this.

Oh, dear she duly arrived, not with a bag but a BOX. Now I know this Suzuki sport is full to the brim, but the mistress announced there is always a place for a gnome or two. If I didn't like it I would be let out on the road somewhere.

As we got to Tirau a pit stop was required and we saw these funny buildings. A dog with his tongue hanging out and 2 sheep. They used to be a cafe, but hard times hit, and are now for sale.

I reckon they would make a great Gnome shed. No not man shed a Gnome shed. We could have a ball in there and live in their tummies. That mistress wasn't amused so off we drove and arrived at her son's lifestyle block.

Now, why do horses eat buckets? They can't be feeding the poor fella.

These 2 cats were given this fish by the mistress. I can see their brains ticking over wondering what on earth do we do with this? They would rather play in these boxes or scratching post.

We went out for dinner to a Malaysian restaurant and just look at this. I am on the water again. That daughter-in-law was rather shocked to find my presence at the table. I am sure she wanted to hide.
So, tonight's accommodation was a last-minute decision. Her family checked out this place looking for cameras in all areas. The mistress was far from impressed with this Air BnB. The ranch slider window had cracked, the couch fell to bits, and she propped it up with 2 books, one towel, no face cloth, and the bed linen not changed from the previous person, blinds wouldn't close properly so she found stuff to cover the cracks. Oh, I hope she sleeps well.
